Fact Finding Team Rushed and Lodged Complaint
Rapist Arrested

The year 2008 ended with sock with a rape case of a 22 year old Assamese girl in IT hub city Gurgaon, National Capital Region on December 30th night. The fact finding team rushed to the spot and extended help in filing the complaint.

The fact finding team led by NE Support Centre & Helpline’s Spokes Person, Mr. Madhu Chandra, member Dr. Alana Golmei – social activist along with two leaders from Jagori Ms. Nilansu Dutta and Priti rushed to the victim as soon the incident was reported early morning yesterday.

The women members of the fact finding team, met victim and provided the trauma counseling and latter took her to Sector 40 Police Station Gurgaon, Haryana to lodge the complaint. A rape case FIR No. 325 under the section 376 of Indian Penal Code is registered against the culprits and rapist arrested.

The victim revealed the incident to the fact finding team, the Mr. Manish, a resident of Greenwood, Sector 40, Gurgaon with promise to give a job in a friend house as domestic help. In stead of taking her to the family where promised for domestic help, Mr. Manish took her to his resident at around 8 PM on December 30. She was offered drink and after refusing, she was offered juice that was mixed with some intoxicant and raped her repeatedly throughout the night.

The victim also told, “I was forced to wear revealing tight dressed and he took picture of me.”

At early morning, she was taken to another place and left her in unknown place and latter she managed to return back to her residence at Sikandrapur, Gurgaon.

After filing the complaint, police took her to Government Hospital at Gurgaon for medical examination.

The north east communities in Delhi and NCR were still under the socked of previous case to two girls molestation in Gurgaon, especially with the fact that the case was delay by the concerned police official. This incident of the rape case adds the frustration toward the racial and regional discrimination to the people from North East India.
