IMPHAL, Mar 18: Four persons, including a top functionary of the armed KRA (U) group and allegedly involved in the assassination of KRA’s general secretary K Hangsing have been slain by KRA activists at near Pangyang under Saikul police station at around 2 pm today.

identity of the deceased four have been established as KRA (U) president Sotinmang Chongloi (36) s/o Thangpao Chongloi of Leimakhong Khunkhu, Bung-kholal Chongloi (49) s/o Apahen Chongloi of New Lam- bulane, Paojang Chongloi (50) s/o (L) Lunkhothang of Thingphai in Saikul sub-division and Nejahen Chongloi (58) s/o (L) Laletpao of L Khengjathang.

prior to execution, the four were paraded before mediapersons, with KRA’s information and publicity secretary Th Misao insisted that all four were involved in the killing of K Hangsing at New Delhi some months back. It may be reminded that among the victims, Bung-kholal Chongloi retired Jailor and had contested State Legislative Assembly election on two occasions under the banner of Samata Party and later on a Congress ticket.
