Prayer for Peace in Manipur to be held in Delhi

New Delhi, May 16, 2010: As the situation prevailing in Manipur is worsening day by day, All India Christian Council (AICC) call-upon a special prayer meeting for peace in Manipur to be held at Delhi’s Apostolic Methodist Church, RK Puram on May 22. The time scheduled is 9 am to 1 pm.

Speaking to this reporter this evening, Shri Madhu Chandra, Regional Secretary, AICC (North India) said: “We have been organising Prayer Campaign for Manipur for the last two years. Now Manipur’s condition is worst, we need blessing prayers for Manipur, Nagaland and Indian Government. Our combine prayer will do something worthy for the state and its people, so that the problem will be sorted out soon”.

Shri Chandra, who is also a devoted pastor and spoke person of Delhi-based North East Support Centre & Helpline (NESC&H) further added, “There is no political agenda behind the proposed meeting. It’s our duty and a responsibility of every Christians of Manipur to pray for peace and harmony at this moment”.

From all the corners of the Capital city, Pastors, Church Leaders, Government employees and students of Manipur and other Christians are also invited to join the prayer meeting for peace in Manipur.
